Pine Island Snook After Hurricane Irma

Despite widespread destruction in much of Florida, the barrier islands around Pine Island Sound near Fort Myers were spared when Hurricane Irma came ashore early in September. The Marina at ‘Tween Waters Inn Island Resort on Captiva Island was open for business with in a couple of days of the storm’s passing.

Anglers were back on the shores of Pine Island Sound chasing snook from the shore,,,,,

and from guide boats almost immediately.

 The snook were unfazed by the winds and waves and quickly were back on their normal feeding habits.
